Julia Seyr
Lust for Life
There is nothing fantastical in Seyr’s comic strips. Minimally drawn, they display laconic humour that, in their simplicity, get right to the point. Similar to a diary, Seyr’s alter-ego, Julie Desire, explains her banal everyday life. The stories become an entertaining bit of fun through simplistic line drawings: Julie’s wishes and desires, her listlessness or the struggle with the creative process, which distract from the random amusements—all of it is a theme, as well as partying, googling friends, or losing oneself in thought about the many possibilities in life.
